YDBC Passes CICAIR Audit

YDBC is pleased to announce that it has retained its status as an Approved Inspector following an audit by CICAIR (Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register). The re-approval allows the company to continue providing its professional and attentive Building Control service.

YDBC is a member of the C80 Group, a multidisciplinary group that operates within the construction industry. The current firms in the group provide a range of services that cover Building Control, Building Compliance and Building Services Engineering. YDBC joined the Group in November 2019 and has since doubled in size. Obtaining the licence renewal is another positive outcome in the first year of ownership.

Approved Inspectors are subject to annual monitoring surveillance to ensure they are adhering to defined levels of service standards, management systems, and retained competences. This includes a rigorous audit and re-licensing process every five years to maintain their registration.

Approved Inspectors are qualified to undertake Building Control work in accordance with part II of the Building Act 1984 and the Building Regulations 2010. If you are planning to carry out building work, you must ensure it complies with the Building Regulations by using either your Local Authority or an Approved Inspector.

Mark Heptonstall, Group CEO, says: “We are delighted to have passed the CICAIR Audit process to retain our status as an Approved Inspector. As an Approved Inspector, YDBC is able to continue delivering a Building Control service across a full range of domestic and commercial construction projects.”

YDBC currently covers Yorkshire and the North East. If you have a building work project, please request a quote for our building control services.
